VLP Law Group LLP is pleased to announce the publication of a new book by Partner and General Counsel David JargielloProfessional Responsibility for Lawyers is a practical guide to professional responsibility that aligns legal doctrine with the realities of modern law practice.

Focused on day-to-day decision-making, the subject matter presents valuable insight on engagement terms and scope, billing discipline, third-party payors and fee sharing, attorney advertising, law firm finance, and the responsible use of AI and other forms of legal technology.

With both clarity and specificity, the perspective offered effectively distills a broad range of statutes, rules and regulations into an organized inventory of defensible actions and real-life applications for practitioners, firms, clinics, and skills-oriented courses.

“David brings the credibility of a seasoned deal lawyer and GC to a topic that too often reads like theory,” said VLP Managing Partner Tim Bowers. “This is a clear, useful guide for lawyers who need answers in real time.”

The volume complements VLP’s long-standing commitment to practical, business-first counsel across corporate, technology, and professional services matters.

David is VLP’s General Counsel and has been a Partner at the firm for over ten years.  An esteemed member of the VLP team, he was also instrumental in working with VLP’s founders on the structure and formation of the firm in 2008.  He works across several practice groups including Corporate, Emerging Growth Companies & Venture Capital, Securities & Capital Raising and Professional Responsibility & Risk Management.   Based in Palo Alto, California, he is also a Lecturer at the University of California Berkeley School of Law and a member of the Board of Trustees of the State Bar of California.

The book appears in Edward Elgar’s Guides to Professional Skills for Lawyers series and can be purchased in hardback, paperback, and eBook formats.
