VLP Partner Melissa Krasnow authored two articles on IRMI.com addressing the California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act (“Act”). This Act becomes operative July 1, 2024, subject to specified exceptions. This Act furthers the purposes and intent of the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”) and applies to a business subject to the CPRA. More specifically, this Act applies to a business (as defined in Cal Civ. Code § 1798.140) that provides an online service, product or feature likely to be accessed by children, meaning California residents who are under 18 years of age.
