Dr. Michael Meehan, JD, PhD, is an experienced technology attorney, with broad expertise in both law and technology, including SaaS, AI, IP & Patents, high tech, medical devices and computer assisted surgery, 3D graphics, and data privacy. His career has spanned large and small tech companies, governments, and academia. He previously served as GC & CLO of an award-winning AI company, as the head of IP for Uber, where be built and led that team, as the lead IP attorney for Google’s Geo business unit (Maps, Nav, etc.), and served as a clerk on the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Michael matriculated from Stanford Law School (with Distinction), UNC PhD in computer science, and received a BSE in Computer Engineering from Purdue (Summa). His technical background includes having held computer science research positions at Stanford computer science and surgery departments, Kodak, a Swiss Government research lab, and an Italian hospital. Michael is a recognized thought leader with dozens of legal and technical publications, numerous advisory board appointments, and is a currently appointed advisor to the UK Government where he advises on promoting innovation at the intersection of AI and data privacy. His practice areas span fractional general and IP counsel work, as well as work in IP, such as patent strategy, patent portfolio building, and patent purchasing, technology transactions and licensing, AI, privacy, emerging growth companies, and third-party threat handling.
