Jared Cook is Counsel in the firm’s corporate group and represents companies and investors in a variety of transactional, commercial and financing matters. He has experience with mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing transactions, joint ventures and outside general counsel matters, including with respect to drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements on behalf of clients, and managing all phases of the contract life cycle. Jared has experience representing clients in a diverse range of industries, including health care, sports, transportation, telecommunications, biotechnology and manufacturing.
Prior to joining VLP, Jared was a corporate attorney at Foley & Lardner LLP in Washington, D.C., where his practice concentrated on mergers and acquisitions and venture capital transactions. During law school, he was an editor of The George Washington International Law Review. Prior to becoming an attorney, Jared worked in public policy on Capitol Hill by serving for several years on the staff of his home state Senator, Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa.
