Sophia Chang is a Legal Specialist in the Commercial Lending Practice Group. She specializes in the due diligence, documentation and closings of secured and unsecured finance transactions.
Her practice includes assisting private and commercial lenders in all facets of equity and debt financings, including commercial bank loans, mezzanine and second lien debt transactions, acquisition financings, letter of credit facilities, bridge loans, and assignments.
Sophia began her legal career at boutique immigration law firms in Miami as a Junior Paralegal, handling over 250+ cases regarding Adjustment of Legal status such as Asylums and Residences. She then joined Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in 2020, ranked a top law firm in the US, as a Practice Assistant in the Commercial Litigation group. She was involved in a significant business theft case which resulted in a judgment of over $370 million for the clients, in breaches of fiduciary duties, as well as in contract disputes. Outside of her professional life, she is a competitive tennis player.
