VLP Welcomes Six New Attorneys in Tax, Corporate, Commercial Lending and Intellectual Property

VLP Law Group LLP is pleased to announce the recent addition of six new attorneys. Elliot Freier and Tim Lyden join the firm as Partners and Michelle Edwards, Graeme Waller, Ben Carroll and Adam Ally join the firm as Counsel.
Elliot Freier concentrates his practice on the taxation of mergers and acquisitions, establishing and growing companies, bankruptcy and workout taxation and tax controversy representation. Among the many honors and recognitions bestowed upon Elliot over the years, he is recognized as a leading tax lawyer by Chambers USA and comes to VLP after many years as a partner at Irell & Manella LLP. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Yale Law School.
Tim Lyden focuses his practice on intellectual property, counseling clients on trademark and copyright matters across diverse industries. Tim is a member of the International Trademark Association, where he currently serves on the Licensing Subcommittee of the Commercialization of Brands Committee. In 2021, Tim was Gold Ranked in the World Trademark Review (WTR) – DC Area. Tim joins VLP from Hogan Lovells, where he spent many years as a partner in its Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Group and co-lead of its U.S. trademark prosecution practice. He is a graduate of The College of William and Mary and University of Richmond School of Law.
Michelle Edwards comes to VLP with extensive experience advising clients in a wide variety of general corporate matters, including numerous venture capital, M&A and capital market transactions. Michelle spent almost 15 years of her career in the corporate group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati where she was a partner, and most recently acted as senior counsel and corporate secretary of a leading online career platform. Michelle is a graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School.
Graeme Waller specializes in mergers and acquisitions, technology transactions and corporate governance. Graeme joins VLP after more than six years in the M&A group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Southern California Law School.
Ben Carroll is a registered patent attorney and has significant experience drafting and prosecuting both utility and design applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ben comes to VLP after almost six years at a Bay Area IP boutique, and is a graduate of Utah State University and Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah.
Adam Ally specializes in representing lenders in venture debt transactions. Adam joins VLP after several years at DLA Piper LLP, where he was a member of the Venture & Growth Lending practice group. He is a graduate of the University of San Diego and the University of Southern California Law School.
