Palo Alto, CA (June 2, 2017) – VLP Law Group LLP is pleased to announce that David B. Franklin has joined the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group as a partner based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr. Franklin’s practice concentrates on real estate transactions and land use, primarily in California and Hawaii. He represents clients in acquiring, leasing, financing, entitling, developing, constructing, selling and exchanging real estate. Additionally, he regularly represents clients regarding general business needs, including formation, entity structure and multi-state operations.
“David brings over 40 years of real estate experience to VLP’s very active group,” said Byron Rodriquez, Chair of the firm’s Affordable Housing & Community Development Practice Group. “We’re especially looking forward to adding his California and Hawaii land use experience, which will complement our existing developer-focused practices in those states.”
Prior to joining VLP, Mr. Franklin was a partner of Dentons US LLP and its predecessor-by-merger firms McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP and Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps LLP. He is a graduate of Duke University School of Law and member of the state bars of both California and Hawaii.
“When I began practicing law, few if any law firms had more than a single office. As technology developed, faxes and then emails made it possible to communicate across continents as easily as to the colleague in the next room. Then we began emailing even to that colleague in the next room,” Mr. Franklin said. “Now I am excited to join a firm that is taking the technology to the next level, doing away with the ‘next room’ while maintaining the degree of connection between colleagues.”Share
