Lauren M. Bittle serves as counsel in the firm’s corporate practice group and focuses on general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, equity financing, securities and capital raising. Lauren regularly represents emerging growth companies and their founders through all phases from formation to major outside investment and exit transactions. She also has significant experience in representing both sellers and buyers in domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, minority sales and carveout transactions. Her clients come from a wide array of industries, such as technology, healthcare, finance and entertainment.

In addition to her transactional experience, Lauren advises her clients on a broad range of day-to-day corporate issues such as governance, equity issuances, securities matters, debt financing, intellectual property concerns and executive compensation. She is especially adept at identifying and offering efficient solutions to legal matters faced by early stage startups and founders as they establish and expand their business.

Lauren attended and received her law degree from the Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina, where she was a member of executive board of the Duke Law Journal.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from the University of Maryland College Park. At the University of Maryland, Lauren became a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the University of Maryland Chamber Singers, and was the president of her local chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota. Before joining VLP, Lauren was a corporate associate in the Baltimore, Maryland office of Venable LLP and later served as Senior Corporate Counsel at a nation-wide pharmacy services company. Outside of work, Lauren is an avid traveler, reader, foodie and home cook.
