Kevin Harris is a Partner in VLP’s Technology Transactions and International Practice groups. Kevin is a technology transactions lawyer with more than 30 years’ experience representing leading Silicon Valley companies, both in private practice and in-house with Citrix, Cisco, Logitech, Iomega, Netscape and Sun Microsystems. Kevin knows what it takes to get business deals done with technology companies, large or small, in an efficient and timely way.

Kevin has extensive experience with a wide variety of complex agreements for technology innovation, commercialization and go-to-market. His practice includes structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements covering consulting and services, contract manufacturing, development, distribution, integration, inbound and outbound licensing, joint ventures, marketing, OEMs, outsourcing, partner ecosystems, resellers, SaaS, spin-offs, strategic alliances, suppliers and terms of service.

Kevin has worked on transactions involving a broad range of technologies, such as AI, cloud computing, consumer electronics, cybersecurity, enterprise software, mobile apps, networking, semiconductors, storage, video communications and virtualization. Kevin’s deep industry experience enables him to serve effectively as a business partner and advise clients not only on legal issues, but on business models and solutions.

Kevin has worked for technology companies both in Silicon Valley and in Europe. His extensive international experience includes living and working in France and Switzerland for 6 years, where he was responsible for European and international legal work for Netscape and Iomega. Previously, he provided legal support for Sun’s rapid international expansion in emerging markets across Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Russia.

He has worked on all phases of mergers and acquisitions, from initial due diligence, drafting and negotiation through post-closing acquisition integration and the resolution of escrow disputes. 

He began his legal practice with Jones Day in Washington, DC and then practiced with Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Silicon Valley before starting his in-house legal career. 

Kevin joined VLP in 2020.
