VLP Intellectual Property Partner Richard Bone was a presenter at the American Chemical Society Spring National Meeting held in San Francisco on April 5, 2017, where he presented two sessions.
In the first session, titled “Survey Of a Decade of U.S. Supreme Court Patent Cases,” Mr. Bone reviewed the last 10 years of Supreme Court patent cases, with a view to classifying them by subject matter (both technical and legal), and by a number of other metrics. The review included an analysis and categorization of the opinions by author, and the breakdown of the court in each case.
In the second session, titled “Highlights of the Last Decade of Supreme Court Patent Jurisprudence,” Mr. Bone reviewed the five most important patent cases decided by the U.S. Supreme Court over the last 10 years, in terms of their impact on innovation in chemistry and the life sciences.
