VLP Intellectual Property Partner Scott Austin hosted an International Trademark Association Roundtable at his office in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on October 28, 2016. The topic of the discussion was “Emerging Issues in the Electronic Marketplace.”
This roundtable discussion explored the trademark enforcement issues and regulations surrounding the fundamental changes in doing business, as commerce continues to shift to the digital marketplace.
Topics addressed included:
- Takedown mechanisms, including group takedowns on social media and name/handle reclaims
- Privacy issues in EU
- Global reach and access to digitally streamed content – India, China;
