DAVID LAWSON is the Chair of the Commercial Lending Practice Group at VLP. David represents financial institutions in a wide range of financing transactions, including structuring, preparing and negotiating loan documents in connection with secured and unsecured credit facilities, loan workouts and restructurings. He has over 15 years of experience representing some of the Country’s most prominent financial institutions lending to high tech companies, life science companies and borrowers in a wide array of other industries, as well as an extensive knowledge of the intellectual property, life science, warrant and other issues that arise in those deals.
David's practice involves both domestic and multi-national transactions, including transactions involving borrowers located in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Israel, the Netherlands and the Cayman Islands. David’s transactions range in size from $1 million to several hundred million dollars and he works with clients located throughout the United States, including California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Prior to joining VLP, David was a Partner in the Lending and Structured Finance Group of Troutman Sanders LLP, and prior to that, was a member of the Credit Finance Group of Cooley LLP, both in their Palo Alto, California office and their Reston, Virginia office.
